Festival Program and Activities

Workshops,  Paint Outs, Exhibition, Demonstrations, Artist Talks. This festival celebrates everything to do with outdoor painting.

Pre-Festival Events and Activities:

2 – 30 September: Vivid Gallery, Smart Street Mall

From the Easel, an exhibition of plein air work presented by the Mandurah Plein Air Artists

Friday 6 September: Mandjar Square 11 am – 3 pm

World Wide Paint Out. No registration, just arrive and paint.

Saturday 7 & Sunday 8 September:  Mandurah Foreshore, Bridge End 11 am – 3 pm

Sunday 8 September: Vivid Gallery, Smart Street Mall 3.30 pm

Exhibition Opening:  From the Easel, an exhibition of work by Mandurah Plein Air Artists.

A Judge’s Perspective talk by Gillian Peebles. Presentation of World Wide Paint Out work and light refreshments included.

Half day Workshop for Youth, conducted by Leon Holmes

Friday 27 September Bar Therapy, Tuckey House 3 Mandurah Terrace

From 5pm: Artist Meet and Greet, nocturnal paint out and early board stamping. 

Happy hour for everyone 5 – 6 pm, all registered artists receive 50% off food and drinks all weekend. 

Saturday 28 September Mandurah Ocean Marina  

From 8am: Meet at the Bendigo Bank Information Marquee at Keith Holmes Reserve for board stamping, sign in and a full day of painting.  Breakfast discount vouchers will be provided for all registered artists.

From 3 pm: free painting time

4 pm:  painting demonstration by Warwick Fuller, Dolphin Quay

From 5pm: Catch 22, Dolphin Quay.  Painting critique session conducted by Warwick Fuller and Leon Holmes, nocturnal paint

Sunday 29 September: Eastern Foreshore (bridge end, near Gloria Jeans)

From 8am: Meet at the Bendigo Bank Information Marquee for more board stamping and another full day of painting. 

Boom Gel Stain activities continue.

Visit the Tiny Shops on Wheels area – as well as their creative wares, they will be facilitating a free community art activity.

From 3 pm: free painting time

From 5pm: Bar Therapy, Tuckey House Mandurah Terrace. Happy hour for everyone 5 – 6pm, all registered artists receive Happy Hour food and drinks all weekend.

Monday 30 September:  Mandjar Square and Boardwalk Precinct

8 – 9 am:  Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, Mandjar Square

Submit one framed painting for judging and exhibition.  Each artist is eligible to submit one painting, and depending on space, another by invitation.

10 – 12 noon: Quick Draw 2 hour painting competition. Registered artists are automatically included.  For non-registered artists, a $10 registration applies.

12.15 – 12.45 pm: Quick Draw judging and sales

1 pm: Painting demonstration by Jos Coufreur, inside Mandurah Performing Arts Centre

1.45 pm: Live music with Deb Zibah

2.30 – 4 pm: Gala awards presentation, exhibition and sales.  Exhibition opened by Hon David Templeman MLA.

Paint with the Mandurah Plein Air Artists at their weekly Tuesday morning Paint Out
