FEATURE ARTIST EXHIBITION

The Plein Air Down Under Feature Artist Exhibition presents plein air and studio works by internationally acclaimed artists Herman Pekel (Vic), Lyn Diefenbach (Qld), Leon Holmes (WA), Val Brooks (WA) and Sue Hibbert (WA).

HERMAN PEKEL is an artist of immense talent and insight, known internationally for his award-winning work in oil, watercolour and gouache.

LYN DIEFENBACH holds Eminent Pastellist status in the International Association of Pastel Societies and is a highly respected and sought-after tutor, regularly teaching internationally and across Australia.

LEON HOLMES, co-founder of Plein Air Down Under, is an international award-winning Australian artist, regularly exhibiting and teaching internationally in the USA, Holland, the UK, Greece and Poland.

VAL BROOKS is an award winning artist who is inspired by the quality of the light and colours of the Australian landscape, especially the movement and colours of the ocean. Insert link to her feature artist page

SUE HIBBERT is a multi-award winning watercolour artist based in Perth, Western Australia. Her use of expressive washes of colour and calligraphic brushstrokes captures the flow of light and mood upon an object or landscape. Insert link to her feature artist page

Come early, join in the free painting outside the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre, attend the exhibition opening and listen to Feature Artist Leon Holmes’ gallery talk.

The Exhibition runs from September 11 to October 10 at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre’s Alcoa Mandurah Art Gallery.

Festival Art Exhibitions

Over the festival weekend, two exhibitions will emerge as artists select their best Saturday and Sunday paintings for exhibition and judging. This exhibition will build from Saturday 25 September, culminating in the judging and main awards presentations. Also exhibited will be the winning Quick Draw artworks.

THE COURT HOUSE, PINJARRA

The Mandurah Plein Air Artists Inc. present an exhibition of their plein air paintings as part of the Plein Air Down Under Calendar of Events.

The Mandurah Plein Air Artists meet each Tuesday to paint outdoors, or as the French would say, “en plein air”.  As well as providing a fun and interesting environment, the group encourages connection with like-minded creatives of all ages and skill levels.

New members are welcome, pop into the exhibition and meet the artists.
