Plein Air Down Under, Festival Weekend Paintings
Foyer Gallery & The Mezz (Youth), Mandurah Performing Arts Centre

FESTIVAL ART EXHIBITION Paintings done on Saturday 25 & Sunday 26 September.

Registered artists can select one of each day’s paintings, or two from one day, to hang in the foyer of the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre for exhibition, sale and judging. This exhibition continues until Sunday 10 October.

Please note: The winning Quick Draw artworks, painted on Monday 27 September, will be included in this exhibition but will not be eligible for the main awards. The Quick Draw winning paintings are in addition to the two paintings exhibited from Saturday and Sunday’s painting.

Festival Art Exhibition paintings can be submitted between 4.30 and 6.30pm at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September. The hanging will commence on Saturday evening, continue on Sunday evening and be finalized on Monday morning. Hanging will be done by Mandurah Performing Arts Centre staff, with volunteers assisting with tasks such as preparing price lists, receiving artwork, checking artists are registered, checking categories etc.

The deadline for submitting Festival Art Exhibition paintings is 6.30 pm Sunday 26 September. If a nocturne painting is preferred for exhibition and judging, it can be swapped on Monday 27 September at 9am.

ADDITIONAL PAINTINGS FOR THE FESTIVAL ART EXHIBITION

Once the Festival Art Exhibition hanging is finalized on Sunday evening, if there is extra space, it will be announced on the Plein Air Down Under Artist Forum Facebook Page that a third painting can be submitted on Monday morning at 9am, at the Mandurah Performing Arts Centre. This will be first come, first served, and will be dependent on space.

All Festival Art Exhibition paintings for exhibition and judging need to include:

  • A hanging mechanism and where possible, framed*
  • Information on the back to include:
  • Artist name
  • Title of Artwork
  • Price of Artwork, to include 25% commission
  • Artist contact number
  • A completed didactic

*We suggest to bring frames to the festival, and paint to those sizes. There is no size restriction.

A commission of 25% is payable on all artwork sold at Plein Air Down Under, including off the easel. If you have a buyer, please take them to the Bendigo Bank Information Marquee for the sale to be processed. Plein Air Down Under is a not-for-profit festival run by volunteers and we thank you in advance as the commission from your artwork sales will enable us to deliver another fantastic festival in 2022.
