Lyn Diefenbach
The pursuit of masterly quality and technique is a high priority for Lyn Diefenbach, whose work is imbued with a celebration of her faith and of life.
Her paintings in pastel and oil cover a myriad of subject matter with her bold florals consistently receiving accolades nationally and internationally.
Her ability to communicate her ideas has entrenched her as a respected and sought-after tutor, with teaching engagements internationally and across Australia.
Lyn regularly takes groups of artists on international paintaways where painting plein air is a strong component of the whole experience. “There is nothing quite like working in situ. The senses are heightened and you become intimately aware of what is before you – the smells, the sounds, the shapes and light.
The need for speed helps you to edit the information with broad important shapes taking the priority followed by smaller details if time allows.
You return home with a greater experience of place than you had before and this will flavour your paintings with life itself.”
Lyn was accepted into the International Guild of Realism in 2008, and holds Master Pastellist status with the Pastel Society of Australia.
Lyn was awarded Eminent Pastellist status in the International Association of Pastel Societies in 2019, having achieved master Circle status with that group in 2014.
Lyn was accepted into the Pastel Society of America as a Signature Member in 2016.
She has been featured numerous times in the International Artist, Pastel Journal and Australian Artist magazines.
As a feature artist at Plein Air Down Under 2021, Lyn exhibited studio and plein air paintings in the Plein Air Down Under Feature Artist Exhibition.
Also exhibiting were Herman Pekel, Leon Holmes, Val Brooks and Sue Hibbert.
Please note: Due to the Covid-19 situation in Victoria, Lyn was unable to attend Plein Air Down Under this year.
